ANN SAM BELL creates theatre performances that reveal the poetry in politics and the laughter in suffering, and vice versa.
We are a collective of artists with diverse backgrounds, aesthetics, and modes of expression. Together, we explore themes and questions of our time, situated in the tension between the personal and the political.
Our work plays with concepts of identity and linearity, embracing the absurd, vulnerability, and humor as artistic strategies. We create through listening, questioning, experimenting, failing, and playing. Our aim is to make art that opens spaces - both for ourselves and for audiences - for new perspectives, unexpected connections, and human recognition.
The collective was established in 2019 by Nelly Winterhalder and is based in Norway and Germany.
